Hebrew Scripture Reading-Leviticus 19: 33-34
When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not oppress the stranger. The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as the citizen among you; you shall love the stranger as yourself, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am Yahweh your God.
The Mission and Outreach ministry at First Congregational UCC is co-sponsoring a local gathering as part of an international day of action on June 26th. Throughout the world, people will be gathering on that day at beaches and other public spaces to join hands as a symbolic demonstration of their desire to end offshore oil drilling and champion clean energy. In Vancouver, we will hold hands along the Columbia River walkway near the I-5 bridge.
